Rangers advanced to the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League with a sensational victory against Real Betis in Seville and ensuring they finish top of Group C.

Abdallah Sima fired home in the 10th minute to put his side ahead, sending the away fans wild - before Betis equalised just a few minutes later through Juan Miranda's strike.

The Light Blues were in front again in the 20th minute after a brilliant piece of play from Cyriel Dessers, with the big man slotting the ball underneath Dantas da Silva, in what was perhaps his finest moment in a Rangers shirt so far. Ayoze Perez curled one in past Jack Butland ensuring the teams went in level at the interval after a pulsating first half of football, with Sima going close to putting the Gers back in front shortly after.

After Betis had a goal disallowed for handball, substitute Kemar Roofe scored the winner for Rangers in the 78th minute, bundling the ball home after Betis failed to clear following a Rangers corner.

This was the Gers' first win away against Spanish opposition in 14 attempts; a result which sees Real Betis slip into the Europa Conference League play-off round.

Clement: "I am really proud of this team.. This is the first time that I have felt this way with the team and I am really happy with evolution they are making, mentally, physically, tactically. This needs to be a reference for the rest of the season."

Up next for the Light Blues is the League Cup final against Aberdeen at Hampden Park on Sunday ..
