Match Review: Rangers 2-0 St Mirren..

Rangers returned to winning ways at Ibrox after two successive draws against Aberdeen and Aris Limassol, with on-loan Brighton forward Abdallah Sima netting twice.

Sima scored at the end of a frustrating half for the home side following an impressive piece of play from Todd Cantwell who excelled in a more central role, having struggled being deployed out wide in the Europa League a few days earlier where he was substituted in the first half.

St Mirren kept their shape well again in the second half until a brilliant through ball from Cantwell carved open their defence, with Sima keeping his composure to seal the victory for the Gers in the 70th minute.

Philippe Clement: "The performance was really good. A very mature game, a very focused game. We didn't give away transitions, which is their strength.. Rome isn't built in a day. If I see how the team were playing six weeks ago to now, I think we've improved."

The win leaves the Light Blues 8 points behind leaders Celtic, albeit with a game in hand. Next up for Clement's side is a trip to Tynecastle to face Hearts on Wednesday, December 6, followed by a home match against Dundee on Saturday, December 9.
