Legendary former Rangers striker Derek Johnstone celebrates his 70th birthday today. The striker spent 13 years at the club from 1970 to 1983, scoring 131 goals in 350 appearances.
Johnstone was part of the Cup Winners Cup winning side in 1972 - he also won three league titles, five Scottish Cups and five Scottish League Cups during his first spell at Ibrox.
After stints at Chelsea and Dundee United, Johnstone returned to Rangers for the 1985-86 season, making 19 appearances before finishing his career at Partick Thistle the following season. He was also capped 14 times for Scotland, netting twice.
